What is the biggest problem facing the world today? A lack of tasteful clothing options for women in their 30s and 40s (try next door for the blog on peak oil). If you are not a 15 year old girl with a penchant for ruffles, rhinestones and cherry patterns, or an office worker with an obligation to circulation-restricting poly blends, you have a challenge ahead of you. Sure, there are a few designer boutiques with great stuff, but it’s hard for some of us to stock up on basics there.
Long story short, I am somewhat pleased with my new top prototype. I was inspired by one I just saw but couldn’t justify spending over $100 on. I used 2 different old dress patterns to get the fit right. The tricky bit was adding pleats to the neckline. Now if I could only find nice fabric in this town…
