Having a little money in one’s paypal account can be a dangerous thing. I’m not sure what adverse effects this ceramic piece might have on my feng shui, but it’s kind of too late, as I’m already surrounded by things that are decorative but slightly off kilter. This was made by Megan Bogonovich. She takes 2 figurines (in this case a deer and a vintage cake decoration) and reassembles them, then makes a new mold. Check out some of her other surreal pieces on etsy. And some of her more elaborate work at art stream studios.

That’s me in Simpsonized form. The hair is too long/full/dark, and the smile too smiley, but otherwise it’s dead accurate (including the yellow skin). If you really want to waste your time you can find the link yourself.

I managed to make dinner for 5 this weekend, and even tho the food was mostly pre-made (other than L and P’s marvy chocolate zucchini cake), it’s a bit tricky in a kitchen the size of a phone booth. The 6th in attendance was wee Sosi Lopes who entertained herself with my furniture and Daniel Clowes comics, and generally charmed the pants off of everyone with her perfectness. Talk turned to blogging, and how I let mine slide into basic non-existence due to several factors. I’m not comfy with every cretin on earth theoretically having access to my life and photos. Secondly, I don’t want to offend any potential clients. And thirdly, my life is not nearly interesting enough. That said, the blogs I enjoy the most are the ones that are honest, unflinching, and often hate-mail-inducing (a la Dooce and Kunstler). Maybe I’ll figure out a better way to use this space (like, for bad sketches of what I had for breakfast), but for now, here is a gem from 1983 that I heard in a film recently… Send me your address and name of the film and get a prize! And a bonus song that is perfect for dreamy summer evenings.
